Cavitation properties of rendering mortars with micro silica addition

Micro-silica is a highly efficient mineral additive whose role reflected in improvements of microstructure packing, strength and durability non-shaped composite building materials such as concrete mortar. A comparative study performances rendering mortars with different quantities micro silica was conducted. The experimental program included production reference mortar based on Portland cement quartz sand (CM) three 5, 10, 15 % addition (SCM-5, SCM-10, SCM-15). effect that has the thermal behavior mechanical properties discussed. Hydration mechanisms thermally induced reactions were studied at temperatures ranging from ambient to 1100 ?C by differential analysis. results supported X-ray diffraction cementing efficiency assessed cavitation erosion test. changes morphology samples prior upon testing monitored means scanning electron microscope imagining. It found 5 superfine (SCM-5 mortar) positive effects strengths (15 increase compressive strength) due densification arising successive filling voids silica.
